In the fall of 2004, the staff of Landscape Materials was approached by members of the Lehigh Valley Large-Scalers, a local garden railroad club, in the search of materials to be used by them for a large indoor garden railroad display at the annual TrainTime/Toys For Tots train display in Bethlehem, PA. Consequently, several truckloads of mulch, pallets of wall block, boulders, stone and statues were provided to the club for use on their 3,000+ square foot display. As a result, it was discovered that Landscape Materials product line and garden railroading were a perfect match. The only thing that was missing was the trains. With there being very few places in the region to purchase G-scale (1/29th scale) products, Landscape Materials has made arrangements with Aristocraft Trains in Irvington, NJ to carry their full line of trains, track, power supplies, buildings and accessories. The 2005 season will feature indoor and outdoor operating layouts. Their line-up of trains will include everything from inexpensive starter sets to the large Mallet 2-8-8-2 steam locomotive. Other Aristocraft products include radio controlled hand held controllers, overhead/wall track systems, onboard sound systems, onboard video systems, built-up buildings, bridges, trestles and portals, scenic sets and “lil’ people.” Landscape Materials is proud to be a part of the Toys For Tots program and hope you find that large-scale model railroading is a wonderful hobby that you and your whole family can enjoy!
